Privacy Policy

When you create an account and use the app, we collect:

• Account details — your email address, a username, and an optional display name. Your password is stored securely (hashed) by our authentication provider; we never see it.
• Your collection & progress — which cards you’ve scanned and own, achievements you’ve unlocked, and the badges or cards you choose to showcase.
• Profile choices — your avatar and favorite card.
• Social activity — friends you add, friend requests, likes (“squishes”), and activity you post in the app. Other players can see your public profile, username, and collection.
• Shop orders — if you buy physical products, your order, shipping, and contact details are collected and processed by our e-commerce and fulfillment providers.

The app asks for these only when you use the related feature, and you can decline or change them in your device settings:

• Camera — to scan your physical cards. Scan images are processed on your device to recognize the card; we don’t upload or store the photos.
• Photos — only if you choose a profile picture from your library.
• Contacts — only if you choose to invite friends; this happens on your device and we don’t upload your contacts to our servers.
• Notifications — to send you alerts such as achievements and friend requests.

• To create and run your account and save your collection across devices.
• To power social features like friends, profiles, and the activity feed.
• To send account emails (confirmation, password reset) and, if enabled, in-app notifications.
• To process and ship shop orders.
• To keep the service secure, prevent cheating or abuse, and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising networks in the app.

If you opt in to Squishara text messages — for example, by entering your mobile number and agreeing on a sign-up form or at checkout — you consent to receive recurring automated marketing text messages (such as new releases, offers, and collection updates) from Squishara at the number you provide. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

• Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
• You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or email us.
• We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or text-message opt-in information with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your consent to receive texts stays with Squishara.
• We use Klaviyo to send these messages. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We share information only with vendors that help us operate the service, under agreements that limit their use of it:

• Supabase — database, account authentication, and backend hosting.
• Resend — sending account emails.
• Klaviyo — sending marketing emails and, if you opt in, text messages.
• Expo / EAS — app delivery, updates, and push notifications.
• Our shop & fulfillment providers — processing payments and shipping physical orders.
• Apple and Google — distributing the app through their stores.

• Edit your profile, username, and collection anytime in the app.
• Delete your account anytime from Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and associated data.
• Permissions — turn camera, photos, contacts, or notifications on or off in your device settings.
• You can also email us to access, correct, or delete your information.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and delete it when you delete your account (some records may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten).

Squishara is rated for ages 9+ and is intended for a general audience; it is not directed to children under 13, and account creation requires users to be at least 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at Hello@squishara.com and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secure, access-controlled storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be noted in the app or on our website.
